Kids earn their shows.
One chore at a time.

A family chore tracker built on one idea: adults reward themselves for getting things done early. Kids should too.

This is a tracking app. You're the bank. You're the employer.

Simple enough for a six-year-old to understand

You already have a system — chores, rewards, expectations. Shows and Chores doesn't replace any of that. It tracks the work, tallies the totals, and shows everyone in the family where things stand. No money moves through the app. You pay your kids however you want — the app just keeps the books.

Log a chore

Parent taps the chore. Takes two seconds. Backdate if you forgot.

Rewards are flexible

Screen time, cash, or both — you pick the mode that fits your family. Kids see what they've earned.

Everything is visible

Kids get their own dashboard. Weekly totals, all-time progress, and goals — no surprises.

Helping earns more

Assist a sibling, do a team chore, or self-start one — collaboration earns bonus rewards.

Grows with your family

Ages 3+

📺 Screen Time

Chores earn show credits. Stack three for a movie. Simple, visual, no numbers to think about.

Ages 6+ (default)

💵 Cash + Screen

Each chore: kid picks cash or a screen credit. Their choice. Teaches trade-offs early.

Ages 9+

💰 Cash Only

Every chore has a cash value. Pair it with savings goals to track progress toward something they want.

The best strategy is helping

The Family Board shows who's contributing — but the language stays supportive. The visual does the motivating. The words stay encouraging.

Self-initiated

Did a chore without being asked? Earns a bonus. The best habit to build.

Assist

Helped a sibling with their chore? That counts. Co-op count goes up.

Team chore

Worked together? Both kids earn rewards. The system rewards cooperation, not just output.

Goal tracker

Activity goals (do something X times) and savings goals (earn toward a target). Progress is visible to the whole family.

Opinionated by design

This app doesn't pay anyone. You pay your kids. You decide the rates, the rules, and which chores count. Shows and Chores tracks the work, calculates the totals, and makes the whole system visible to your family. You're the bank. You're the employer. The app is the ledger.

The reward system is voluntary. Some chores are just life — lunchboxes, showers, basic cleanup. This app tracks the earnable ones. You decide which is which.

There is no debit button. There never will be. Kids earn forward only. If they've used a reward before earning it, they earn it back — it's completing a transaction they started, not a punishment.

Edits stay in the log. Parents can change any entry — the date, the chore, the value. If an entry gets removed, both the original and the removal are visible. Transparency models accountability.

No parenting advice. No methodology names. No "Montessori approach" or "attachment parenting." Just a tool that makes the system you already have visible to everyone in the house.

Kids never log in

Adults log in. Kids view read-only dashboards on a parent's device — or their own, via a bookmarked link. No child accounts. No email collection from kids. No tracking cookies on kid-facing pages. This is both a philosophical choice and a privacy architecture.
